چکیده

The pricing of telecommunications services and products is undergoing unprecedented change in many countries throughout the world -as a consequence of radical and rapid changes in the organization of the industry. These, in turn, have flowed from technological developments, shifts in the regulatory/government climate, and/or judicial decisions, all of which have altered the economic fundamentals on the supply side. That is, the structure of the costs of providing service is no longer widely presumed to be such as to make telecommunications at all levels a natural monopoly 1. We will not review the recent history of the industry here, but, where relevant to our discussion of pricing we will cite some specific occurrences.
